We went down to Florida for most of a week. The first day, it was a hundred degrees warmer than it was back home.

We saw all sorts of wildlife on this trip.  There was the flock of mostly terns on the beach one day...

I found a four-and-a-half-legged star fish...

There was beach construction going on. (More on that later.) They had about half-a-dozen fenced off areas near the scrubby edge of the beach. I walked over to one after one of our daily walks and found a pair of burrowing owls...

They were named Harold and Marjorie.  We saw them cleaning house pretty much anytime we went by.

We also saw these two on a couple of our walks...

One day, we walked a way we hadn't gone before. It was up past the construction equipment and had already been done. We noticed these little holes in the hard-packed sandy and wondered what they were...

Looking farther ahead, we could see little crabs scurrying in and out of them. Turns out they were little fiddler crabs...

There was a lagoon that way that we had never seen. We were almost run over by a heron...

On the last day, Kelly found a bougainvillea...
